The Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission is headed by the Cultural Attaché, who is responsible for all Mission activities and provides central supervision over all operations of the Bureau. The current Cultural Attaché is Dr. Ebraheem Al Batshan who assumed his duties on 10/10/1427H (1/10/2007).
Students Affairs Section
Academic Affairs Section is responsible for providing services to Saudi students from the time of their expression of interest for admission until they finish their study. The services begin with seeking admission, on behalf of Saudi academic candidates, into the most suitable programs at the most suitable colleges, universities or other Indian educational or training institutions.
Academic Affairs Section is also responsible for advising, guiding and supervising the students' progress at all levels following their placement in Indian institutions. This includes maintaining records of students' performance, following up their progress and transmitting this information, through the Cultural Attaché, to the respective Saudi Arabian sponsoring agencies. Academic Affairs Section helps students by contacting officials of the respective universities to facilitate registration for study or remedial assistance, receiving scholastic reports and transcripts of each term, and meeting students and counseling them if and when they encounter any problems.
Cultural Section
Its responsibilities include:
To boost up the relations of the Saudi Cultural Mission with the Indian educational institutions in order to facilitate the higher study program of Saudi Students in India as well as to improve the bilateral Indo-Saudi Cultural relations.
To conduct interviews for recruiting faculty members required by different Saudi educational institutions.
To organize international cultural exhibitions & book fairs.
To improve cultural relations between the two countries
To build up cultural and academic relations between Saudi universities & research centers and their counterparts in India
To organize refresher courses and seminars in cooperation with Indian universities
To distribute Arabic books and publications regarding Saudi Arabia and Arab culture
To preserve Arabic and Islamic heritage in India to take care of Arabic manuscripts
To coordinate for academic exchange program between Saudi and Indian universities
Administrative Section
The Administrative Section is responsible for providing administrative support for the Mission, and handles all administrative, secretarial and translation duties, receives incoming and dispatches outgoing fax and mail correspondence, conducts general office services, as well as communications, security, transportation, and airline ticketing for Mission staff and Saudi students. The Administrative Section is also tasked with looking after the social interests of Saudi students and trainees in India.
Finance Section
The Finance Department is responsible for all accounts and all expenditures of the Mission, including expenditures related to Saudi students and their families. These include tuition, salaries, rewards and other expenditures. This department also handles expenditures related to the Mission and its staff, such as salaries of employees, rent, other operating costs, and private expenditures.
